It's time for February Farley fun!
I am slacking in a major way with posting. Any suggestions for sticking to a regular blogging schedule?
My pet peeves...
Students losing books from our classroom library. Or not checking them out correctly. And not reading them. I want kids to read, read, read! Difficult to do when students mistreat our books.
Nosy posies is a phrase I *think* I coined this year : ) My students are very social and love to stir the proverbial pot. Pretty insensitive and hurtful, not just to the other students, but to me too! Underpaid and Overblessed posted a great lesson about fighting hate with love today. I love her ideas about using tootsie roll pops and the crumpled paper. I read Owen and Mzee: Language of Friendship yesterday with my class.
We discussed a variety of issues like cliques, gossip, tolerance, being a positive leader, good stuff. LOVE this poster I bought from Really Good Stuff.com. It proudly hangs on the inside of my door. Hoping we can work as a team and make our classroom a better place for all to learn.

Sorry, no advice to sticking to regular blog posting. I'm terrible at it and I have a blog partner! I'm happy I found your blog through the linky.

Always a million things to do! It is hard to sit back and smell the roses!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like we had a similar weeks! My classroom "issues" became so difficult I had to call the principal in to have a talk with my kids, this is the second time that has happened!
ReplyDeleteFor blogging regularly I have a goal of two post a week, tonight I did two...haha....still met my weekly goal :)
Thanks for following!

I just found your adorable blog and am happy to be a new follower :) it can really be tough sometimes to keep up with it all. The best advice I have is to not let it become a burden or "one more thing" you have to do. I've found that when that happens it makes me stress about it more and it begins to feel like an obligation! When you get to it, you get to it, and don't worry, your followers, will still be here waiting for ya! I know that isn't the best advice, but that's what I always try to remember to keep myself sane. I am loving your fabulous blog girl!

I best way I found to stick to posting is make a schedule. Write out what you want to post about each week, write all of your posts for that week on the same day...if you can...and schedule your posts out. That way you only have to worry about writing one day and you can blog hop the rest of the week! Hope that helps!

DeleteI want to link up for your book of the month. Haven't done that in a while. Glad you stopped by!
Nosy posies, interesting phrase. I have those kids too. Might I also recommend Tarra & Bella and The Name Jar. These are books we read to overcome our troublesome choices.
