To become re-inspired by other teachers around the world and collect fresh ideas and resources.

2. What is your favorite subject to teach and why?

I love Social Studies because there are awesome picture books to read that really drive the facts and feelings home!

Reading across curriculum

Role play, relating content to students' lives - especially in Social Studies

I love to shop at Target and VeryJane.com.

Tomorrow I'm in the dunk tank at my school's spring carnival.

My new addiction is Bikram Yoga.

Long to blog

Sorry to be missing for so long. Tough times here lately. My husband's Grandmother passed away not too long after mine. Behavior issues while I was out of school. Sick little boy. State testing took until almost 5:00 this afternoon. I really want to join in all the fun happening in blog world, but can't right now. I promise I'll be back soon! Until then, Bikram Yoga is keeping me sane : )

Sad news and better news

My dear Grandma passed away early Thursday morning, peacefully at home. She raised me and I consider her to be my mother. I am fortunate that she was able to do that, attend my college graduation, be at my wedding, and enjoy her great-grandson, my son. I wanted to let my bloggy friends know.

Some better news to share is my first Donor's Choose project has been funded. I checked my e-mail on the way back from the funeral home, and there it was. That was the first time I smiled a little bit yesterday.

Be thankful for those you love and tell them often. That's how I lived my life with Grandma and have no regrets : )
